THE DESIGNER AS... The Designer As... Author, Producer, Activist, Entrepreneur, Curator and Collaborator: New Models for Communicating is a book published by BIS Publishers, Amsterdam in 2013. It represents two decades of research into, curation about, and creative production of work that acknowledges design authorship as a major theoretical movement in graphic design. The concept began for me in the mid-1990s when a colleague and I co-curated the Designer as Author: Voices and Visions exhibit while at Northern Kentucky University. The Designer As... was energetically and handsomely designed by Martin Venezky! It has sold nearly 2000 copies and is libraries around the world (six in Singapore alone!).
